There were some really good teams in the triples this year – all looked good enough to get a gig in the final but of course that’s not how it works!

The final of the Club Triples came down to the wire, with teams equal going into the last end. Ultimately the seasoned players held their nerve to take the prize, while the game provided some good entertainment for the spectators.

Congratulations Josie Cross, Dorothy Bonaccorso and Carol Tindale for their 16:14 win over Diane Franklin, Bonnie Lam and Noelene Davis.

170612 Womens Pairs by Noelene Davis First game of the semi-finals was played on the Queen’s Birthday Monday. Not a bad game – very close early on before Jane and Lesley drew away from Helen and Margaret to finally win.

There was a large crowd of spectators enjoying the beautiful winter sunshine along with a great game.

Finals: Congratulations Jane Byrnes (s) and Lesley Hines on their win, 22:17 against Jan Morris and Lyn Beaumont. The winners played beautifully but like so many games the fortunes could have changed on the last end if…!

This year we fought it out in two grades. The biggest struggle for much of the season was the weather!

Final result, May 2017

Grade 2: Beecroft was in it almost to the end but the eventual winner for the grade was North Epping. Congratulations girls.

Grade 3: Beecroft came 2nd – well done. The winner for the grade was West Pennant Hills.

21 April update

After two losses in a row the Grade 2 team has tumbled to third on the ladder. Nevertheless, with three wet weather games to go the flag is still up for grabs.

With all their games completed Grade 3 is on top of the table but the outcome will depend on a wet weather game that includes the team coming second (WPH) against PH. Cross your fingers girls!

11 April update

At the half way point Beecroft was leading the table in grade 2 but unfortunately in the next match went down to Dural 4:1, so have lost the prime position. Nevertheless, while Dural is on top we are equal second with Asquith B so we are still in with a chance. Go Girls!

Grade 3 is fighting on and is second in the field. Great effort – keep up the pressure!

Major Singles

Some tough matches as usual. All competitors had a chance – it was a very strong field this year.
In the end Merryl Gray defeated Noelene Davis, the 2016 defending champion.
Congratulations Merryl
